Someone asked for this
before it existed.
You didn’t have one yet. So I built it.
You can follow the spell.
But do you know why
it works?
The Black Garden Society is a learning community for women who want to understand the why behind their craft, not just follow someone else’s instructions.

Someone asked for this
Why this exists
You can collect spells, save correspondence lists, read books, and still find yourself wondering:
- Why this herb?
- Why this correspondence?
- Why this method?
- What can I change?
- How do I know what makes sense for my own practice?
The Black Garden Society is built for the part that comes next.
Understanding the principles underneath the practice, so you can build knowledge, confidence, and a craft that becomes increasingly your own.
Deeper understanding builds more confidence in your practice.

Who the Garden is for
Curious enough to want more
than surface-level instruction.
You may be newer to the craft.
You may already have a practice and realize there are places where you’ve been following instructions without really understanding the reasoning underneath them.
Either way, the expectation isn’t that you arrive knowing everything.
The expectation is that you want to learn.
